Harrah's Entertainment Inc. expects to host an estimated 5,000 players during the final no-limit Texas hold 'em championship game of the World Series of Poker next year -- about double the number that competed this year.
The World Series of Poker is scheduled to begin June 2 and will run through July 15.

An attorney representing the Poarch Band of Creek Indians worked Wednesday on an request for a federal opinion that could allow poker games at tribal bingo halls.
Montgomery attorney Mays Jemison said Wednesday that he and Tribal Chairman Eddie Tullis met with U.S. Attorneys Leura Canary and David York on Tuesday in Mobile to discuss the issue.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Celebrity poker matches are popular on TV, and it seems like games of chance are everywhere. But the Ohio attorney general said residents should be careful before putting their money down, NBC 4's John Ivanic reported.
Attorney General Jim Petro said some groups are going too far and stepping over the line of what is considered legal gambling.
The state isn't trying to bust Friday night poker games among friends, but officials want to make sure the game people are getting into is legal.
"Charities can keep a piece of the action for profit," Petro said. "An individual who is not charitable cannot keep a piece of the action."
Petro's office has fielded an increasing number of calls from across the state regarding poker games and other casino nights.
